STRATHCLYDE PARK, MOTHERWELL (2004 - Present)
In 2004 due to safety measures, Strathclyde Police failed to sanction the running of this event on the open roads from Law - Motherwell. A new route had therefore to be found if this historic race was to continue.
It was decided therefore that a course within Strathclyde Park would be the best solution to this problem. As stated previously the course has been accurately measured and should be suited for all to achieve PBs.
The course is renowned as one of the fastest 10 milers in Scotland and in 2018 the first three male finishers completed the course in under 50 minutes with Luke Traynor of Giffnock North setting a new course record of 47:59 mins. Sarah Inglis of Lothian Running Club also set a new ladies' course record with 55:34 mins.
